A Pioneer Party

You’re invited to a family-friendly pioneer party.
Main Street 1849 at SantaCaliGon Days Festival celebrates not only the roots of the SantaCaliGon, but the roots of Independence as the “Queen City of the Trails.” Enjoy live entertainment, games and activities, live demonstrations and more as we celebrate our pioneering past on Main Street between Lexington and Kansas avenues all festival long. Presented by the City of Independence, Main Street 1849 offers a weekend's worth of free, family fun. Learn to pan for gold. Step inside our frontier jail cell. Interact with true-to-life pioneer actors. Enjoy one-of-a-kind photo opportunities.
Main Street 1849 is guaranteed to be a memorable stop for the whole family.
