For the 50th celebration of the festival, in collaboration with The Examiner, we are bringing back the medallion treasure hunt contest! The SantaCaliGon Medallion Hunt was a huge part of our festival in years past and we could not be more excited to bring it back for the 50th celebration.
Clues pointing the treasure hunter to the location of the medallion will be published by The Examiner until all eight (8) medallions have been found. Shortly after the clue of the day is announced, they will also be shared on social media pages for both the SantaCaliGon Days Festival and The Examiner. The medallions are silver in color and engraved with the SantaCaliGon Days Festival 50th Year logo on the front and a QR code engraved on the back. When a medallion is found the hunter will scan the QR code on the back of the medallion to register and claim their spot to win the GRAND PRIZE WORTH $500. On Friday, Sept. 2nd, during the SantaCaliGon Days Festival, all eight (8) winners will be invited to the Main Stage, with one winner being randomly selected for the grand prize.
The medallions are approximately two inches in diameter and are hidden in public areas in Independence. Searchers are asked to stay off private property and refrain from damaging any property in parks, trees, shrubbery, or buildings. Digging or climbing will not be required in the search. Shortly after it is announced, clues will also be shared on the following social media pages for both the SantaCaliGon Days Festival and The Examiner.
